Come and see for yourself...

The Cornwall Community Museum in The Wood House allows visitors to step back in time and examine the past of Cornwall and area. The Museum is divided so that each room reflects a different time period: from the early 1800s to the 1950s. As an example, the kitchen reflects the 1900s and showcases several kitchen "gadgets" of times gone by; the 1950s dinning room steps back to a time of prosperity in Cornwall when the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway system was underway; the Industry room of the 1930s shows the thousands of people who worked in textile and paper manufacturing.

As for the basement of the Museum, it is a new addition from the year 2000 that allows for the storage and preservation of the archival collection. With over 100,000 documents and photographs as well as genealogical records we can certainly help you with your research needs. Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm are set asside for research purposes.
